6/22/2023 0 Comments Microsoft office mac m1I tried downloading and installing the same version of OneDrive that is on my iMac, but the version number of OneDrive on the MacBook did not change and it is still the Apple Silicon version. My M1 iMac still has the Intel version and it's working fine and still has Files on Demand turned off. I have tried Reverting to the Intel version but so far that has not worked. This week, Microsoft released new versions of many of its Microsoft 365 apps that run natively on Apple M1. ![]() I just realized today that Files on Demand is now, apparently, ON, and I find no way to turn it off. One month on, and Microsoft Office is now optimized for running on Apple's M1 devices. Following Apples unveiling this week of M1-powered Macs, Microsoft has released a new version of its Mac Office 2019 for Mac that includes support for macOS Big Sur and compatibility with Apple. Thanks to Apples Rosetta 2 translation software, the M1-powered Macs can run x86-64. I recently turned on Insider Preview in OneDrive on the MacBook and updated it to the Apple Silicon Preview. So out the gate, Microsoft Office should run on the New Macbook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac mini without issue. I always turn OFF files on demand as I want all files downloaded to the local hard drive of each computer. I have Microsoft 365 Family and use OneDrive to sync files between computers. ![]() ![]() ![]() I recently upgraded my MacBook to the new MacBook Pro with M1 Max processor.
